People for Us is a service of People First New Zealand, a Disabled Persons Organisation run by and for people with learning disability.

People for Us is a groundbreaking peer-monitoring service led by disabled people. It is focused on ensuring that disabled people and tāngata whaikaha Māori who are receiving disability support services are safe, living their good lives, and experiencing high-quality support.

As we establish and expand this vital programme, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Administrator to oversee financial operations, manage budgets, and ensure financial compliance. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that makes a real impact in the lives of disabled individuals across Aotearoa New Zealand.

About the Role
As the Financial Administrator, you will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of the People for Us programme. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing budgeting, financial planning, and expenditure tracking.
  • Preparing financial reports for the People for Us Manager, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies and funding requirements.
  • Managing payroll, invoicing, and financial records using Xero and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Supporting financial decision-making and advising on cost-effective solutions.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience or a recent qualification in financial administration, accounting, or bookkeeping.
  • Strong proficiency in Xero, Microsoft Office 365, and financial reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of funding agreements, financial compliance, and budget management.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage financial data accurately.
  • Commitment to the values of inclusivity, accessibility, and the rights of disabled people.
