$85,000 – $99,000 per year

People for Us is a service of People First New Zealand, a Disabled People's Organisation run by and for people with learning disability.

People for Us is looking for three Regional Managers to lead and oversee our peer monitoring initiative.

The three regions are:

1) from Waikato to Tai Tokerau

2) Bay of Plenty to Wellington

3) the South Island.

The expectation is that you are living in the region.

People for Us is a national quality improvement service led by disabled people. It is focused on ensuring that disabled people and tāngata whaikaha Māori who are receiving disability support services are safe, living their good lives, and experiencing high-quality support. 

About the Role

As a Regional Manager, you will:

  • Oversee the implementation and operations of the People for Us service in your designated region.
  • Lead and support mentors and peer mentors to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with disabled people, tāngata whaikaha Māori, whānau, Disabled Peoples Organisations and a range of sector groups, disability support providers, and government agencies.
  • Ensure the team are trained and able to comply with safeguarding, legal, and policy requirements.
  • To assist disabled people living in residential service to have more choice and control in their lives and drive service improvement through effective monitoring and reporting.

What We Are Looking For

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in disability rights, social services, or community leadership.
  • Lived experience of disability or strong connections to the disability community is highly desirable.
  • Leadership experience, including managing and mentoring teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, UNCRPD, and Enabling Good Lives principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the disability sector.
  • Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage compliance, data security, and reporting.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office 365 and CRM systems.

  • Flexible working arrangements available.
  • Regional and occasional national travel required.
  • Clean police vetting required.
  • Valid driver’s license desirable.
  • This role is subject to funding and contractual agreements with the Ministry of Social Development.
